Social Media Policy
1. Purpose
PPPWorld uses social media, including LinkedIn, to communicate information relating to Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs), infrastructure, public investment opportunities, institutional developments, and PPPWorld activities.
Our social media channels are intended to provide professional and institutional information to investors, public authorities, financial institutions, technical partners, advisers, and other stakeholders involved in the PPP ecosystem.
This Social Media Policy establishes the principles governing content published by PPPWorld and interactions with PPPWorld through social media.
2. Official PPPWorld Communications
Only content published through an official PPPWorld social media account should be regarded as an official social media communication of PPPWorld.
Statements, comments, opinions, or publications made by employees, advisers, partners, users, investors, public officials, or other third parties through their personal accounts do not necessarily represent the position of PPPWorld.
PPPWorld may share, repost, reference, or comment on information published by governments, public authorities, international organizations, financial institutions, companies, or other third parties. Such sharing does not, by itself, constitute endorsement of the organization, project, transaction, opinion, or information concerned.
3. PPP Project Information
PPPWorld may publish or relay information concerning PPP projects proposed by States, public authorities, public entities, or other authorized project sponsors.
Where information originates from a public authority or project sponsor, that entity remains responsible for the information it provides regarding its project.
Social media publications are intended to provide general information and visibility. They should not be considered a substitute for official project documentation, tender documents, contractual documentation, due diligence, or direct communication with the relevant public authority.
Interested parties should verify material information through the official documentation and competent project authority before making any commercial, financial, technical, or legal decision.
4. No Investment Recommendation or Financing Commitment
Nothing published by PPPWorld on LinkedIn or any other social media platform constitutes:
- an investment recommendation;
- an offer to sell or issue securities;
- a solicitation to invest or provide financing;
- financial, investment, tax, or legal advice;
- a guarantee concerning the viability, profitability, bankability, procurement outcome, financing, or performance of a project; or
- a commitment by PPPWorld to finance, insure, guarantee, award, or execute a project.
Any decision to participate in, finance, advise on, bid for, invest in, or otherwise become involved with a PPP project remains the sole responsibility of the relevant party.
5. PPPWorld Advisory Activities
PPPWorld may, separately and upon request, provide optional advisory or facilitation services to investors and other professional parties in connection with PPP projects.
The existence of such services should not be inferred merely because PPPWorld publishes or discusses a project on social media.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, the publication of a project by PPPWorld does not mean that PPPWorld has conducted legal, financial, technical, environmental, or commercial due diligence on that project.
6. Accuracy and Updates
PPPWORLD seeks to publish reliable, professional, and appropriately sourced information.
However, PPP projects can evolve. Project values, procurement schedules, technical characteristics, financing requirements, participating institutions, deadlines, and other information may be amended by the competent authorities.
A social media publication therefore reflects the information available at the time it is posted.
Where PPPWorld becomes aware of a material error in its own publication, it may correct, update, clarify, or remove the relevant content.
7. Confidentiality
PPPWORLD's social media channels are public.
Users should never publish confidential, commercially sensitive, classified, privileged, personal, banking, financial, procurement-restricted, or otherwise protected information through comments, messages, tags, or other public interactions with PPPWorld.
Where confidential communications are necessary, the parties should use an appropriate private and secure communication channel.
PPPWORLD will not intentionally disclose confidential project or client information through social media without appropriate authorization.
8. Professional Conduct and Community Standards
PPPWORLD welcomes relevant professional discussion concerning PPPs, infrastructure, investment, financing, public policy, and related subjects.
Users interacting with PPPWorld's social media channels are expected to communicate professionally and respectfully.
PPPWORLD may hide, delete, report, or otherwise moderate content that it reasonably considers to be:
- unlawful;
- fraudulent, deceptive, or deliberately misleading;
- defamatory or threatening;
- discriminatory, hateful, or abusive;
- obscene or sexually explicit;
- spam or repetitive promotional material;
- unrelated to the subject of the publication;
- an unauthorized disclosure of confidential information;
- an infringement of intellectual property, privacy, or other third-party rights;
- impersonation of PPPWorld, a public authority, an investor, or another organization or individual; or
- otherwise inconsistent with the professional and institutional nature of PPPWorld's social media channels.
PPPWORLD may also restrict or block accounts engaged in repeated or serious misconduct.
9. Third-Party Comments
Comments and other content published by third parties on PPPWorld social media pages remain the responsibility of their respective authors.
The presence of a comment on a PPPWorld publication does not imply that PPPWorld approves, verifies, endorses, or agrees with that comment.
PPPWORLD is not responsible for statements made by unaffiliated third parties through social media.
10. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise indicated, PPPWorld's original social media content, including its branding, graphics, written materials, visual identity, reports, and other proprietary materials, may be protected by applicable intellectual-property rights.
Third-party material shared by PPPWorld remains subject to the rights of its respective owners.
Users should not reproduce PPPWorld material in a manner that falsely suggests sponsorship, authorization, partnership, endorsement, or affiliation with PPPWorld.
11. Public Authorities and Institutional Relationships
References to governments, ministries, public authorities, international organizations, financial institutions, investors, advisers, contractors, or other organizations do not imply a formal partnership, mandate, endorsement, or contractual relationship unless PPPWorld expressly states that such a relationship exists.
Similarly, publication or promotion of a PPP opportunity does not mean that PPPWorld acts on behalf of the State or public authority concerned except where an express mandate has been granted.
12. Media and Official Statements
Social media publications should not automatically be treated as formal press releases, contractual communications, regulatory disclosures, or legally binding statements.
Where an official announcement, project document, government notice, procurement document, or press release exists, the official document takes precedence over any summary or reference published through social media.
13. Platform Rules
Use of LinkedIn or any other third-party social media service remains subject to the terms, policies, privacy rules, and technical conditions established by that platform.
PPPWORLD does not control the operation, availability, security, algorithms, data practices, or policies of third-party social media platforms.
14. Changes to this Policy
PPPWORLD may amend this Social Media Policy when necessary to reflect changes in its activities, communication practices, applicable requirements, or the social media platforms it uses.
The latest version will supersede any previous version.
