Accessibility Statement

This statement sets out the current state of accessibility of the PPPWorld website (the “Platform”) for people with disabilities, including people who are blind or have low vision, people who are deaf or hard of hearing, people with motor impairments and people with cognitive or neurological disabilities. We publish it because we believe users are entitled to an accurate account of what the Platform does and does not currently support, rather than a claim we are not yet in a position to make.

1.Scope

This statement applies to the pages published under the pppworld.org domain. It does not apply to third-party websites to which we link, in particular the official sources of the public authorities whose projects are presented on the Platform, nor to third-party platforms on which PPPWorld maintains a presence, such as LinkedIn. Those sites are governed by the accessibility arrangements of their own operators.

2.Current status: no conformance claimed

PPPWorld makes no claim of accessibility conformance for the Platform at this time. The Platform has not been audited, tested or certified against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), the European standard EN 301 549, Section 508 of the United States Rehabilitation Act, or any other accessibility standard. No assistive-technology testing has been carried out, and no accessibility remediation work has yet been undertaken.

Accordingly, and to be explicit: at the date of this statement, the Platform should be regarded as non-conformant, and parts of it are likely to be difficult or impossible to use with a screen reader, with keyboard navigation alone, or with other assistive technologies. We state this plainly so that no user relies on an accessibility capability that has not been verified.

3.Known and anticipated limitations

Because no audit has been performed, we cannot provide an exhaustive list of barriers. The following limitations are known or reasonably anticipated:

• the animated graphical elements of the home page, including the interactive globe, are decorative and convey no information in an accessible form; they have no text equivalent and may not respect reduced-motion preferences;
• keyboard-only navigation, visible focus indicators and skip-to-content behaviour have not been systematically tested across the site;
• colour contrast ratios, text resizing and reflow at high zoom levels have not been verified against any standard;
• headings, landmarks, form labels, link text and image alternative text have not been audited for correctness or completeness;
• documents and official sources published by third parties and linked from project listings are outside our control and may themselves be inaccessible;
• justified text, serif typography and the density of the legal pages may reduce readability for some users, including users with dyslexia.

4.Alternative means of access

Where any part of the Platform is inaccessible to you, we will provide the same information through another channel, at no cost to you. On request, we will supply the content of a page, a project listing or a legal document in a plain-text, large-print or otherwise agreed format by email, or respond to your question directly by email. Requests may be sent to contact@pppworld.org, and we will acknowledge them and respond within a reasonable time.

No user should be disadvantaged in accessing information about a project because of the current state of the Platform. If the contact form itself is unusable for you, write to the same address directly.

5.Feedback

We welcome reports of accessibility barriers. If you encounter a difficulty, please write to contact@pppworld.org, describing the page concerned, the difficulty encountered and, if you are able to, the assistive technology, browser and operating system you were using. Reports of this kind are useful to us and will inform the work described in the following section.

6.Planned work

PPPWorld intends to improve the accessibility of the Platform. Planned steps include an accessibility audit against a recognised standard, remediation of the barriers that the audit identifies, and the publication of a revised statement recording the level of conformance actually achieved and the date of assessment. We do not at this stage commit to a completion date, and this section should not be read as a representation that any particular improvement will be delivered by any particular time.

7.Third-party components

The Platform loads fonts, icon files and other technical resources from third-party providers, and displays information originating from public authorities. PPPWorld does not control the accessibility characteristics of these components or of the external sources to which project listings link.

8.Status of this statement

This statement is provisional and self-declared. It has not been prepared or reviewed by an accessibility specialist and is not a formal accessibility conformance report. It will be replaced once an assessment has been carried out. Any material change will be indicated by updating the date shown at the top of this page.
